Peter Shaw became interested in music listening to stories told to him by his dad playing banjo in a skiffle group during the late 50’s and early 60’s. By the time he was 9 his mum and dad were running one of the biggest country music clubs in the UK. After this great introduction to the scene he picked up his first guitar at the age of 15. Putting together his first band Lapwing. As time went on and the band split Pete remained good friends with the bands banjo player Simon Brady and they formed a duo Painted Pony which eventually evolved into their famous duo Broadcaster. Since going solo almost 10 years ago he has become one of the most respected musicians and artists on the country music circuit. His vast range of songs fit well with both the listeners and dancers.
